Google Calendar
Here's how to add a shared Capacitly calendar using Google Calendar on your iPhone.
Heads up! The Google Calendar app on iPhone doesn't let you add subscription calendars directly. No worries though! You just need to add it through a browser real quick, and then it'll show up in your Google Calendar app.
Steps
- Open Safari (or any browser) on your iPhone.
- Go to calendar.google.com and sign in to your Google account.
- Important: You need to be on the desktop version of the site, not the mobile version. In Safari, tap the aA button in the address bar and choose Request Desktop Website. In Chrome, tap the three dot menu and choose Desktop site.
- In the left sidebar, find Other calendars and click the + icon next to it.
- Select From URL.
- Paste the subscription link into the URL of calendar field.
- Click Add calendar.
The calendar will show up in your Google Calendar app on your iPhone within a few minutes. Pretty easy!
Don't see the events? Sometimes the new calendar doesn't show up as visible by default in the app on your phone. Open the Google Calendar app, tap the three line menu (☰) in the top left, and scroll down to look for the new calendar. Make sure the checkbox next to it is checked. If it's unchecked, just tap it and your events will appear.
Tip: This is honestly easiest on a computer if you have one handy. Just head to calendar.google.com, click the + next to "Other calendars" in the left sidebar, select From URL, and paste your link. It'll sync right to your phone.
How to Unsubscribe
- Go to calendar.google.com on a computer.
- In the left sidebar under "Other calendars," hover over the subscribed calendar.
- Click the three dots (⋮) and select Unsubscribe.
