Step 3 of 4

Tag Your Events

Now that you have tags, assign them to your events. This is how Capacitly knows which events belong in each share.

Quick reminder: Tags are labels you assign to events. When you create a share later, you pick which tags to include. Only events with those tags show up in that share. Everything else stays private.

Steps

  1. Open the Capacitly app and find an event that you want to tag.
  2. Tap the Tag Icon on the event or Press and Hold on the event.
  3. Select one or more tags from your list. Tap a tag to add it. Tap it again to remove it.
  4. Tap Save Tags.

That's it. The event is now tagged and will show up in any share that includes that tag.

Tip: Want to tag a bunch of events at once? Switch to the List tab and press and hold on an event to start selecting multiples. Use the search and filters to find exactly the events you want.

Multiple Tags on One Event

Events can have as many tags as you want. This is handy when an event is relevant to more than one group of people.

For example, your kid's Saturday soccer game might get tagged both "Soccer" and "Grandparent Stuff." That way it shows up in the share for the carpool parent (who only gets "Soccer") and also in the share for Grandma and Grandpa (who get "Grandparent Stuff"). Same event, different audiences, no duplication.

What About Recurring Events?

If you tag a recurring event, the tag applies to that specific occurrence. For events that repeat on a regular schedule (like weekly soccer practice), you can tag multiple instances at once from the List tab.

Don't worry about being perfect. You can add or remove tags from any event at any time. Your shares update automatically when you do. Start with the events that matter most and add more as you go.

Removing a Tag from an Event

  1. Tap the Tag Icon on an event.
  2. Tap the tag you want to remove (it will deselect).
  3. Tap Save Tags.

The event will be removed from any shares that included it through that tag.

Next up: Create a Share to send your tagged events to the people who need to see them.
